Voz Me: Wacky Web Tales

Things That Drive Me Bonkers

I just hate it when…

Mom serves chicken for dinner.

My pet horse chews my key.

Ms.Williams gets mad at the class for being funny.

My best friend Estelle decides to homework with somebody else.

I get drew for something I didn't do.

Dad makes me wear hats to school.

My favorite TV show “AMC” gets canceled because the station has to broadcast a news conference.

Wacky Web Tale

A Crazy Night at the Library

One night something really funny happened at the library. The characters in the stories started jumping from their books!

Molly climbed into Charlotte's Web and started dancing with Wilbur the Pig! Sammie wandered into an encyclopedia and ended up lost in New Cross!

The craziest part was when Roland wandered into All American Girl and said, “Cookie, I don't think we're in Kentucky any more.”

Then Ms. Libson walked in and said, “Wow! Everybody back in place!”

The characters hugged around the room. Just in time! The students in grade 9 came in to get books for their reports, but it was safe. All the characters were back in the books where they belonged.

Martin Luther King: The Other America

Martin Luther King jr. talks in his speech "The Other America"about Racism in America. He describes two Americas, the white America and the Black America. Though he wasn't as direct, he still talked about the actions of people in both America's. Racism in the U.S.A can be seen as Whites not wanting to be served in the same areas as Blacks, or whites not getting paid more than Black co-workers. America's problems are different to the ones they had in 1967 because America is less racist than it was before. With a Black President elected, America has also become less prejudice.

Flavanols

"While flavanols are naturally abundant in cocoa, unless you are specifically measuring and carefully handling a product throughout the manufacturing process, there is just no guarantee the product contains meaningful levels of the flavanols," said Mary Wagner, General Manager at Mars Botanical, a scientific unit of Mars, Incorporated dedicated to flavanol research and product development, and which recently launched CirkuHealth™ in the United States, a cocoa extract based dietary supplement. This quote is from the Chocolate Industry. Weekend Post (Popular Culture)

This weekend is sadly my last weekend of my vacation. I had a lot of fun this past week especially Thursday. On Thursday, I went to the movies with my friend and we saw the movie Valentine's Day. It was really good and I would see it again., I'd also recommend for people who like comedy to see it. Here is a link to the reviews: NY Times Review. BTW in my last post I mentioned the olympics.I still haven't watched the 2010 Winter Olympics. As far I know, sadly G.B has only won 1 gold medal but I know they will catch up. Luckily, America is in the lead with 7 GOLD MEDALS , GO TEAM U.S.A !!!

Weekend Post

This weekend I didn't do much. It snowed a little bit in NY so I stayed in to watch it. I didn't have any homework so I went to Kings Plaza Mall to get clothes. It was fun and I also watched the SuperBowl. GO SAINTS !!!!!!!!!!! My topic is education. Many people traveled to Florida to get to the Superbowl and support their teams. Instead of worrying about their lives they were watching football. People especially young boys have decided they want to become football players and quit school. This is a bad decision because education is important and helps determine your career based on your advancement level. I think more football players should come to schools and educate people about education and smart choices.

Podacast on Issue in Pennsylvania

A Taser is an electroshock weapon that uses electrical current to disrupt voluntary control of muscles.

My Opinion: I think the police took it too far when they brought the dogs in to chase after him. They should've had better security because things have happened before at basketball games especially between rival schools. Tasering him was also unnecessary.

Long Weekend

Today is Martin Luther King Day. Dr. King was one of the world's most well known legendary figures. He was a hero to many and helped African-Americans to become desegregated,. If it wasn't for him, Rosa Parks and the Civil Rights Movement, we would still be sitting at the back of buses and see inferior to white people. This weekend, I goofed off and did homework. I have a cold sadly so I had to stock up on Tylenol, Vicks, Inhaler, Halls, Orange Juice and Vitamin C at the store. Hopefully, it will go away soon
